And then she had to figure out the rest — navigating a VA system that wasn't built for her, searching for providers who understand women's military experiences, and quietly carrying the invisible weight of combat deployments and unresolved trauma.
All while raising a family. Building a career. Showing up for everyone else.
Women of GWOT was created to change that.
We exist to ensure that women veterans of the Global War on Terrorism are not left to navigate healing alone. Through advocacy, system navigation support, wellness programming, and legacy preservation — we help women veterans reclaim stability, health, and community.
Advocacy We amplify the voices of women veterans and push for the policies, resources, and recognition they have earned.
VA Navigation We help women veterans understand and access the VA benefits and healthcare they deserve — without getting lost in a broken system.
Wellness Programming We connect women veterans to resources that support whole-person recovery — mind, body, and spirit.
Legacy Preservation We honor and document the stories of women who served, ensuring their contributions to the GWOT are never forgotten.
